Mid-Week update

1. I got a JOB!!! whoohoo! I'll start sometime within the next 2 weeks. It's in the hematology/oncology clinic at ACH and I am very excited/anxious about starting a new area of nursing...but am happy for a challenge!

2. SOS, help needed!!!! (two parts)
a. What type of vacuum cleaner do we need??? I need one for hardwoods and pet hair?suggestions welcome!
b. We are making our first effort at a garage sale this weekend in order to rid our house of accumulate junk from our single lives. So, suggestions for a succesful sale also welcome!

3. One area of domesticated house-wifeing (sp?) that I feel I am not terrible at is cooking. Or else GT is good at lying and eating everything to make me feel like it's edible. So far this week I have made salsa-red onion turkey burgers over an italian green salad on Monday, and spinach-feta-tomato dinner omelets yesterday. You're all welcome to dinner anytime (after the house is finished, ok?)

Happy Hump Day,
Kate

Katie Kate-
I am so excited for all your fun times and new beginnings! Let me just put your vacuum shopping to an end. Get an Oreck. I swear to you that you will want to name your children after me you will love it so much. It costs a friggin arm and a leg so you may need to just dream about it for now, but I swear it rocks. It does our hard woods and rugs/carpets like its a wind tunnel. LOVE IT. And love you!

Patrick really misses your dinner invitations and dinners. They literally lit up his week and it was the only time he got to have a woman's cookin'. Sorry dude. SO that being said, I doubt Grant is lying. I still haven't had a garage sale but will soon so I'll catch up on your comments for tips too.

p.s. andee and jimmy just had a huge one if you want to talk to them.

Love, love, love your new blog, Kate! Good luck on your garage sale this weekend. Get ready to wake up early, those people will be there at the crack of dawn! We used to do the garage sale thing, now I just take a garbage bag or two to goodwill every month. It feels so good to get rid of stuff! Your meals sound fabulous. Willie officially retired me from cooking last week when I accidentally substituted Jiffy corn muffin mix with Jiffy apple cinnamon muffin mix in the corn casserole. I swear the boxes look exactly alike. It was the strangest tasting thing, kind of half dessert, half side dish...weird. We had to pull the box out of the trash to figure out what I did. Anyway, love you and GT and love hearing about your new life together. God has smiled on you!

Katelyn, Thanks for posting your blog address on FB---I didn't know you're writing one. Sounds like you're doing great being the "little wife-y", & the supper menus sound really .! Julie is right about an Oreck---they're good. I THINK there's a dealer over at Rock Creek Shopping Ctr. (by Hobby Lobby & El Porton) on Bowman---before you get to Corky's.

Garage sale tips: have a lot of $1 bills on hand.....price low if you're REALLY wanting to get rid of stuff over making money.... even if you say 8 a.m., people will be waiting at 7---so be prepared for that, no matter what time you say......have a fan blowing, & a nice thing to do might be to have an ice chest full of little bottled waters, or just ice with a bunch of cups---it's gonna be HOT this weekend! We'll be going on vacation, but I wish you two well with it!

Hey friend! We've had 4 vacuums in our 4 years of marriage and we finally found the perfect one for pet hair... The Dyson Roller Ball... Yes, it is expensive, but you will NOT BELIEVE how much dog hair it pulls up and it makes our carpet look awesome. If you get a 20% BB and Beyond coupon, that will save you big time if you buy it there!
